Work for Monday 16th March.

Hello Year 9.

I'm sorry I'm not there again today... I basically have no voice!
Hopefully I'll see you all on Tuesday.
Mr G

Here is the plan for today.

Writing and Social Sciences

If you haven't finished answering the 3 questions about Archibald Baxter from last week, finish that FIRST.

Activity ONE
Go to this site - https://nzhistory.govt.nz/war/first-world-war/conscientious-objection

Scroll to the bottom section titled - 'The end of the war'.
Read this section.

1. What happened to the Conscientious Objectors after the war?
2. How many 'named defaulters' were there?
3. What were some of the 'rights' they lost?
4. How does this tie into our discrimination theme?

Activity TWO
Get the Archibald Baxter school journal from the front table.
In pairs or threes, write 6 questions each about the article we read together, with space between each question.
Swap books and answer each others questions.
Mark your friends answers (which will be in your own book).

Activity THREE
If time, head back to this site - https://nzhistory.govt.nz/war/first-world-war/conscientious-objection  and read more about Conscientious Objectors.
You might like to make some notes in your SS book.

CORE (and Trash shared novel)

Listen to Chapter 10 & 11 of Trash (This will be about 30 mins worth) Paige/Gracie/Reese/Abigail to sort out getting that going.

SRA cards for the remainder of the time from the coloured box at the front.
